Imagine the sheer terror of being stuck in a tree for two whole weeks – that’s exactly what poor Clyde, the cat from Vernonia, Oregon, endured!
So, here’s the lowdown: Clyde, a normally indoor kitty, got spooked and bolted out of the house. Talk about a panic move! Next thing you know, he’s perched up a towering 75-foot Douglas fir tree, unable to make his way back down.
According to The Dodo, Clyde spent a nerve-wracking two weeks stuck up there, high on the branches, until help arrived.
Enter Tom Otto, a hero from a non-profit animal welfare organization that specializes in rescuing cats from trees. Clyde’s family reached out in a desperate bid to bring their beloved feline back to solid ground.
Can you imagine their relief when they finally heard Clyde’s faint cries amidst the towering fir tree? Otto wasted no time and soon had Clyde safely in his arms.
“He was really, really happy to see me,” Otto shared with The Dodo. And you bet Clyde’s family was over the moon to have him back!
“We are so grateful to have found him,” the rescue organization shared on Facebook. “He was a bit thin when we got him down, but is now doing well getting lots of love from his very relieved family.”
Otto, who knows the anxiety of having a pet in distress firsthand, was thrilled to witness Clyde’s heartwarming reunion with his loved ones. “It’s always super awesome to see a family be greeted by a cat that they’ve been missing,” he said.
Ah, talk about a purr-fect ending to a harrowing adventure in the treetops!
