Stefany and her mom, dedicated animal rescuers in Canada, have a soft spot for stray or abandoned cats. Through their local rescue, Chatons Orphelins Montreal, they provide these felines with care, get them fixed up, and find them loving homes.

One day, a shy cat appeared in the distance, eyeing the spread of cat food. Over time, he became a regular visitor, showing up for meals and winning the hearts of Stefany and her mom.

“He devoured everything with a voracious appetite and kept coming back for more,” shared Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montreal.

As temperatures dropped, the cat’s visits took a turn. One day, he decided it was time to move in. “He waited in the yard until Stefany came out with the food. When she opened the glass door, he walked straight into the kitchen, threw himself at her feet, and never once tried to run away.”

Stefany welcomed him with open arms, providing him with a room complete with all the comforts a cat could dream of—a litter box, a bed, and, of course, food. After a satisfying meal, he curled up in his new crib and fell fast asleep.

The cat, now named Oscar, showed immense gratitude to his rescuers. Despite scars from frostbite, he yearned for love, rubbing his face against their cheeks and seeking cuddles.

Soon, Stefany discovered a lump in Oscar’s neck, which turned out to be a cyst. After surgery to remove the mass, Oscar began his healing journey in a foster home with Gabrielle, a dedicated volunteer.

As Oscar recovered, he surrounded himself with snuggle buddies, including a trusty frog and a tweety bird. “He became curious about everything around him and constantly asked for attention,” Celine shared.

Nothing delighted Oscar more than cuddles from his foster family. He’d nuzzle into their hands, signaling that it was time for a hug. “Gabrielle showered him with all the cuddles she could supply.”

After a few weeks in foster care, a loving family opened their hearts to Oscar. Now, he enjoys endless cuddles from his humans, and he has fur siblings to hang out with every day. Oscar has found his forever home, and his days of waiting outside are a distant memory.
