There was a couple who crossed paths with a shelter cat who seemed to have mastered the art of hissing.
This feline had a clear message: “Don’t even think about touching me!” However, one brave soul decided to take a chance on this skittish little furball. And guess what? A few gentle caresses turned everything upside down!
Let’s hear it from David himself, who shared this incredible tale with the folks at Love Meow. “We stumbled upon him while browsing the Humane Society website.
He looked kinda cute, so we thought, why not pay him a visit?”
Now, here’s where the fun begins. As they entered the shelter, they noticed that the few other people and couples present seemed a bit nervous around the hissing and growling kitty.
Can you blame them? This little fellow was quite the social enigma.
But David, oh David, he decided to throw caution to the wind. He took a leap of faith and scooped up the small gray feline (just to test the waters, you know).
Lo and behold, the furry creature began to purr after a couple of gentle strokes. That’s when David and his girlfriend knew they had to bring this hissing wonder into their lives.
They took him to an isolation room, where he continued purring and enjoying the blissful sensation of belly rubs from his newfound humans.
Though he was a bit on the jumpy side and not too keen on playtime, those belly rubs? Oh, he adored them!
At that very moment, David’s girlfriend turned to him and declared her affection for the little hissing maestro. She was willing to give him a loving home. And just when they thought things couldn’t get any more heartwarming, a photo opportunity arose. The furry fellow climbed up and left a “boat load” of his gray furs in David’s beard. Talk about leaving a lasting impression!
“I believe I was officially adopted,” David chuckled, overwhelmed with joy.
The next day, they brought their newfound feline friend home. And let me tell you, this little bundle of fur became a die-hard fan of watching Wild hockey games on David’s lap. He transformed into a truly amazing cat, showing his mischievous side with his hissing but never actually delivering a bite. He’s all bark and no bite, folks!
David concludes his tale by giving Albus, as they named him, a perfect 10 out of 10 rating. He would gladly choose to adopt him all over again without a second thought.
