Are you ready for a heartwarming tale of love and friendship? Meet Orion, a 16-year-old cat who lost his home and arrived at the Kitty Adventure Rescue League & Sanctuary in Fort Worth, Texas.
But when he got there, he wasn’t feeling too confident, and all he did was hide.
And when we say hide, we mean it! He hid for almost a week!
But the volunteers at the sanctuary didn’t give up on him.
Karyn Poplin from the Kitty Adventure Rescue League said, “He lost his only home, and he’s unsure of his new one, but he sure likes to sneak up and cuddle when you’re taking a nap. Welcome home, Orion. We’re happy to have you.”
But even with these welcoming words, Orion still wasn’t feeling comfortable.
That is, until he met Britches, another resident cat who had been living at the sanctuary for a whopping 18 years!
Britches saw that Orion needed some love and decided to be his cuddle buddy, comforting him with lots of purrs and snuggles.
And slowly but surely, Orion began to come out of his shell and enjoy life again.
He started giving head bonks to everyone, and before long, he was back to doing what he loved the most.
Now, Orion shows his gratitude each and every day for his new and wonderful home.
Sometimes all we need is someone to believe in us, love us, and give us a chance to be our best selves. Orion found that someone in Britches and the volunteers at the sanctuary.
And who knows, maybe one day Orion will be the one comforting a scared newcomer, just like Britches did for him.
