When Marcy’s family faced eviction one summer, they left her behind, finding refuge in an old cardboard box in a neighbor’s yard. It’s a tough start to Marcy’s story, but hold on—it gets much better!
Rebecca McGinn, visiting her brother, learned about Marcy’s plight and instantly felt a connection. “I decided to adopt her as she was inside a soggy cardboard box, shivering and had sore eyes,” shared Rebecca. “As soon as she saw me, she came up for pets and was so sweet and affectionate.”
Marcy, initially in rough shape, had eye issues, worms, pneumonia, and a lung infection, as discovered during a vet visit. The road to recovery looked long, but Rebecca was determined to give Marcy the love and care she needed.
Once home, Marcy wasted no time settling in, curling up for days on end. Rebecca noticed, “The thing she loves most is being with me and my partner, cuddled up. She is 100 percent obsessed with blankets and people. She loves being tucked in and covered up. She is on or in a soft blanket 99 percent of the time!”
Despite her rough past, Marcy embraced the joy of having soft and cuddly places to call her own. It’s a heartwarming ending to her tale, finding a forever home filled with love and care. Cheers to Marcy and her new life!
