Michigan – Here’s a heartwarming story that will melt even the coldest of hearts: a precious kitten was left out in the freezing cold on a freeway during the winter.
This poor shivering cat found itself on the median of the road, desperately seeking warmth and shelter. Fortunately, an eagle-eyed Michigan Humane Society employee named Tiffany spotted the tiny gray furball. The shelter shared a video on their Facebook page capturing the heartwarming rescue.
In the video, you can see Tiffany discovering the shivering feline, huddled on an orange plastic bag amid the slush and cold. She immediately stopped her car and gently scooped up the vulnerable kitten.
The grateful cat wasted no time snuggling up to its rescuer, and Tiffany, with a heart full of compassion, turned on the car’s heater and placed the cat right in front of it. The cozy warmth was just what the cat needed, and it couldn’t hide its appreciation.
Despite having endured the freezing conditions, the cat was, fortunately, in relatively good shape when found on the busy road.
Back at the shelter, the rescued cat reveled in the warmth, attention, and cuddles it received. The little survivor was named Lodge by the Michigan Humane Society staff.
Anna Chrisman, the media manager for Michigan Humane, described Lodge as “very sweet” but noted that the kitten also has a “sassy side.” That touch of sassiness is something many cat owners can relate to.
But here’s something that sets Lodge apart: he enjoys being carried around by his human companions and has a penchant for playtime.
The Michigan Humane Society reports that Lodge has since found the perfect home. He’ll never be cold again. 🏡❤️
