In Bridgewater, UK, a TikToker faced a hilarious problem with her cat Lola wreaking havoc on her seven-foot tall Christmas tree. But her solution? It’s both ingenious and downright hiss-terical – and let’s hope it’s cat-proof!

As December kicked in, this cat owner had had enough of her festive but feisty feline turning her Christmas tree into a playground. TikTok user Stephenie Violet shared a video of herself grumpily disassembling the bottom half of her tree, explaining why she had to take such drastic measures.

“Steph, Christmas hasn’t even started yet, why you putting your Christmas tree away?” she joked with the camera.

As the caption revealed, “LOLA 1 – 0 STEPH.”

Lola, the adorable black and brown speckled cat, had been the culprit behind the much-needed makeover. Previous videos showed Lola scaling the tree and knocking off decorations, leaving Steph exasperated.

“I need help!” Steph lamented.

But Steph wasn’t one to give up easily. Instead of surrendering to the chaos, she came up with a clever plan.

In her latest video, Steph revealed that she decided to dismantle the bottom half of her seven-foot tree, leaving only the trunk and the top intact. The idea is that Lola won’t be able to reach the still decorated top half without the lower branches.

One commenter dubbed her creative solution a “miniskirt Christmas tree” or “naked” on the bottom.

Steph proudly showed off her half-dismantled decoration, singing “Oh Christmas Tree” but adding, “If she gets up there, I just don’t know what to do.”

The video quickly went viral, amassing over 500,000 views and counting. The comment section was filled with laughing emojis and sympathies from other pet owners who shared similar experiences.

“This made me die with laughter. I feel your pain…I’m not even bothering with a tree this year, mine chews the lights as well,” one user wrote.

Others shared their own unique solutions for keeping pets out of their trees, from using orange-scented items to covering the base with tinfoil.

Here’s hoping Steph’s half-naked tree solution keeps Lola at bay for the entire holiday season!
