Baron had quite the reputation in his neighborhood, where he’d been a wandering spirit for at least two long years. Kind neighbors often fed him, and he managed to outsmart numerous humane traps that were set up with the hopes of rescuing him.

“People saw the cat appear and then disappear for several weeks. He was hard to find, but the neighbors posted about him every time he was sighted,” shared Chatons Orphelins Montreal.

As the temperatures dropped, concerned neighbors shared photos of Baron in hopes of bringing him to safety. Many people in the community rallied together to form a plan to rescue him.

When hunger finally kicked in and the bitter cold set in, Baron decided it was time to return to one of the neighbors who had shown him kindness. That’s when they set up a trap, but this time, Baron walked right into it, unlike his past avoidance tactics.

“He finally entered the trap, and his life as an alley cat was over.”

Despite testing positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), which is common among outdoor tomcats, Baron quickly adjusted to indoor life. It seems he might have had a family in the past, as he was incredibly sweet and immediately sought attention upon arriving at his foster home.

With a cozy roof over his head and loving people to cater to his needs, Baron transformed into a snuggly teddy bear who craved affection.

“He is very gentle and still a kitten at heart. He is affectionate and loves cuddles. He will roll on his back whenever he wants more love.”

Over the past few months in foster care, Baron has blossomed. His once rough coat is now soft and fluffy, and his loving personality shines through.

He loves following his humans around the house, offering his “helping” paw if they’re in the office, and staying by their side as their personal supervisor.

“He is always next to us when we do dishes. Often, he lies on our feet asking for hugs. He craves attention and loves to be babied.”

Baron’s life on the streets was far from easy, but now he can relax and embrace the playful, cuddly cat he was meant to be.

“He loves to give and receive affection. He will sit by our side like a little puppy. He purrs as soon as we give him some pets. He communicates well with us. He likes to talk about his day and play and snuggle with us.”

Baron’s adventurous spirit even extends to his newfound love for walks on a harness, showcasing his dog-like personality.

After years of roaming the streets, Baron is now living the life he’s always deserved – that of a cherished, pampered house cat.
