Imagine this heartwarming tale: a stray tabby cat, rough around the edges, found his way to a caring soul over a year ago. Luck was on his side when he sauntered onto a balcony, where Celine Crom, a resident with a heart for strays, had laid out some tasty treats.
He climbed up to a balcony and wolfed down the food a resident, Celine Crom, had prepared for a few local strays.
This tabby, covered in matted fur and dirt, had a severe mouth infection, making it impossible for him to close his mouth. Celine, a guardian angel with a cat rescue, Chatons Orphelins Montreal, couldn’t turn a blind eye.
“With the food routine, he started to come over almost every day. I set a humane trap one day and he just walked right in,” Celine recounted, revealing how she began earning the wary cat’s trust.
A vet visit unveiled a laundry list of health issues, and the tabby tested positive for FIV. A dental surgery followed, freeing him from the discomfort he’d endured for too long. They named him Luckyou (or Lucky), a fitting name for a cat finally free from the trials of street life.
“His tongue now sticks out constantly because he has almost no teeth left. He’s very charming on the outside and incredibly sweet on the inside,” noted Celine.
Estimated to be around seven years old, Lucky had likely spent most of his life outdoors. Initially terrified, he gradually warmed up to his foster parents, shedding his fearful demeanor for one of curiosity and affection.
“Once he learned to trust, he became very curious about everything around him. He started asking for attention and cuddles and would purr very loudly with his tongue sticking out,” Celine shared.
Lucky transformed into an inquisitive, talkative, and cuddly companion. His charming quirks include supervising his humans during meals, high-fiving, and demanding treats with a button push.
“He’s also very smart and has figured out how to do high-fives with his people,” Celine added.
Now, a confident attention-seeker, Lucky has become a full-time “supervisor” in the household. From watching his humans run errands to taking afternoon siestas on a cozy couch, he’s living his best life.
“He will answer us with his little crunchy meow when we talk. Now that he knows he’s safe, he wants to be friends with everyone he meets,” Celine beamed.
Befriending other cats in foster care, Lucky, with his buddy Connor, is ready for the next chapter – finding a forever family willing to embrace this big teddy bear and his charming supervisor antics.
