As Gissell approached the cat with a can of food, expecting to lure him in, she was in for a delightful surprise. This gentle giant wasn’t solely interested in food; he craved affection and belly rubs. With complete trust, he rolled on the ground, showcasing his belly and exposing his vulnerability. Instead of walking towards Gissell, he playfully wriggled his way to her.
Clearly, Buttons was overjoyed to have encountered a kind-hearted human. He received head scratches and willingly allowed Gissell to place him in a carrier. That night, Buttons left behind the harsh life on the streets for a comfortable bed and a full belly.
Buttons, estimated to be around five years old, didn’t have an owner to claim him, so he found solace in the care of Soph, a foster volunteer at the rescue. This affectionate feline quickly made himself at home, seeking cuddles and companionship.
