Guess what happened on a recent JetBlue flight? A grey and white cat was spotted wandering around the cabin, and passengers were in for a surprise! Author and columnist Yi Shun Lai shared a photo on Twitter of the cat being held by a flight attendant, trying to find its owner.
She tweeted, “On last night’s @JetBlue flight, ONT-JFK: ‘Is anyone missing a CAT. A grey-and-white CAT.’ Yes, I woke up for this.”
Turns out, the adventurous feline, named Brian, had managed to escape from its carrier during the flight and decided to explore the cabin freely. While some airlines allow passengers to travel with pets in the cabin for an extra fee, they usually need to stay in approved containers throughout the flight.
But don’t worry! The cat’s owner was eventually found, and it turned out that Brian had sneaked out of his carrier and was just wandering around.
The image of the “chonky” cat went viral, getting more than 133,000 likes on Twitter. Brian’s owners even gave an update, saying, “He’s doing great! My partner and I travel with him in a cat-backpack, and the bottom flap isn’t very secure. So Brian must’ve nudged it open while we were asleep. Thank you for all the love, he’s safe and sound but definitely not sorry.”
People were amused by the flight attendant’s expression and shared their love for the furry escape artist. One commenter even joked, “Retired flight attendant here, my dream flight would have been one full of cats and dogs, no humans.”
This isn’t the first time a cat has decided to roam freely on a flight. In January, another feline adventurer was discovered exploring the cabin during a flight between Dallas and San Francisco.
So, next time you’re on a flight, keep an eye out for any four-legged stowaways looking for a little adventure!
