Leo’s story began when he was around 10-12 years old, living in neglect after his owner passed away. A kind soul named Louise stepped in to rescue him, bringing him back from the brink. Despite his challenging past, Leo remained affectionate and loving.
“Leo was incredibly emaciated, dehydrated, anemic from fleas, and had a broken tooth (and bad teeth). He was so matted that he had to be shaved,” shared Caroline Grace, founder of Baby Kitten Rescue.
But Leo’s spirit was unbroken. He quickly adjusted to indoor life, finding solace behind a chair and showering his foster mom with affectionate head bumps and purrs. His favorite time of day? Morning, of course! He would greet Louise with meows and cuddles, eagerly heading to his food bowl afterward.
After a full dental treatment, Leo felt like a new cat. His appetite surged, and he embraced playtime like a kitten. Despite missing a few teeth, he approached meals with gusto. Leo’s love for food was unparalleled, and he made sure his humans knew it.
Now, in his loving foster home with Cindy, Leo continues his morning routine, giving sweet meows to start the day and cleaning up his food bowl with gusto. His resilience and unwavering affection have won the hearts of everyone he meets.
“His resilience and unbreakable sweet spirit are an absolute inspiration. Despite everything he’s been through, Leo is just a big mushy ball of love,” Caroline shared.
Thanks to his newfound safety and love, Leo is thriving, proving that a second chance can truly make a world of difference.
