Reggie, also known as Parmesan Reggiano, is not your average orange tabby cat.
He was part of a cat colony in Tucson, AZ, where he quickly stole the hearts of those around him during a TNR (trap-neuter-return) project.
“Not just because he’s cross-eyed and has an inexplicably large nose. He was so sweet and so friendly,” shared Courtney of Poets Square Cats, a TNR advocate and cat rescuer.
Arcelia, a volunteer for Southern Arizona Cat Rescue, took care of Reggie and his furry friends. Reggie was known for his outgoing personality and insatiable desire for attention.
“He would plop himself down in the middle like he was the star of the show,” recalled Courtney. Reggie was always eager to hop into their trunk as if he wanted to tag along when they finished their work for the day.
Reggie was a regular visitor to Arcelia’s house, where he would demand attention at the door and make himself at home in the neighborhood.
“He came to eat every single day. He hung out outside my house and would sleep on top of my car or in a cut down palm tree in the back,” Arcelia shared.
Despite being surrounded by needy cats, Arcelia promised Reggie that his day would come soon. And when the opportunity arose, Arcelia welcomed Reggie into her home with open arms.
“He’s indoors with his (foster mom), being held like a baby, getting all the attention he wants, sleeping cross-eyed among blankets,” Courtney happily shared.
Reggie quickly adapted to indoor life, enjoying cat beds, snuggles, and playtime with his new family. He’ll even be receiving dental work with the help of Southern Arizona Cat Rescue.
Now, Reggie is living his best life, surrounded by love and care, thanks to the dedication of his rescuers and foster family. With his playful personality and sweet demeanor, Reggie reminds us all that every cat deserves a chance to find their forever home.
