So, picture this: a chilly evening in New York City, and out of nowhere, this scrawny orange cat pops up inside a residential building, looking for some warmth and a bite to eat.
“He was clearly freezing and starving. He ran into the building begging for help,” Meagan from Puppy Kitty NYCity shared.
Luckily, a kind soul stumbled upon the little guy and couldn’t bear to see him shivering in the cold. They reached out to a friend who fosters for Puppy Kitty NYCity, and guess what? They came to the rescue!
The cat, now known as La Croix, arrived at Meagan’s place and wasted no time showing his gratitude. He was all over her, rubbing against her legs as if to say, “Thanks for taking me in!”
Poor La Croix was so hungry that he devoured a whole can of cat food in a flash. He was a mess – skin and bones, covered in battle scars, but his sweet nature shone through.
After a few days of TLC, La Croix started filling out and showing off his playful side. And guess what his new favorite thing was? Toys! Especially ones with catnip.
“He could smell catnip from a mile away. It was like watching a kid in a candy store,” Meagan said.
You know that feeling when you see a street cat discover toys for the first time? It’s pure magic. And for La Croix, it was a whole new world of fun.
He’d dive into a basket of toys, trying to fish out the catnip-filled ones with all his might. Then, he’d roll around in pure bliss, his face covered in catnip-induced happiness.
La Croix quickly became a favorite among the volunteers, with his charming personality and love for cuddles.
When it was time for La Croix to find his forever home, it didn’t take long. His heartwarming story touched so many, and he found a loving family in no time.
From begging for help in a building to finding his happily ever after, La Croix’s journey is the epitome of a heartwarming tale. And now, he’s living his best life, surrounded by love, toys, and all the catnip he could ever dream of.
