Some kind folks spotted this stray cat and her feline sister wandering outside, looking for food and shelter. It turns out they were both abandoned and pregnant – can you believe it?
Luckily, a Good Samaritan reached out to the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA) to provide these expecting moms a safe place to have their kittens. Paul, a foster volunteer, stepped up to the plate and took the beautiful short-haired black cat into his home, while her sister went to another foster family.
At first, the mama cat was a bit shy, but she quickly warmed up to her new space. Paul prepared a comfortable nest for her, and about a week later, she gave birth to six adorable little “mini-mes.”
You won’t believe how devoted and protective she was of her babies! She’d hiss at Paul when he entered the bathroom after the birth, but it was all just for show – she’d turn to purring in no time.
This mama cat has been an absolute gem, taking her motherhood duties very seriously. She ensures her six kittens are well-fed and squeaky clean. Whenever her humans come into the room, she’s more than happy to take a break from her mommy duties and soak up some cuddles and attention.
And let me tell you about these little furballs! As soon as they found their feet, they started exploring their nursery, with Mama watching over them like a hawk. They’re a friendly bunch and love interacting with people.
The best part is, once the kittens are ready, they’ll find their forever homes, and the plan is to reunite Mama with her sister so they can be adopted together. A true family reunion!
It’s so heartwarming to know that this sweet Mama will never have to worry about food and shelter again, and her kittens will grow up surrounded by love. The power of kindness and compassion is truly amazing!
