Every single day, Christine, the cat, stands up to welcome the person who transformed her life, along with her two adorable kittens.
This heartwarming story began when a stray cat named Christine and her two tiny kittens found their way to the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter in early October. Christine, right from the start, proved herself to be a fiercely protective mother, deeply concerned about the shelter environment and its potential impact on her little ones. This loving family of three met their guardian angel, Megyn, a dedicated foster volunteer with Kitten Konnoisseur.
Megyn was at the kitten nursery when she crossed paths with Christine and her kittens. She could sense Christine’s unease and knew that the best way to ensure the kittens’ health and well-being was to find them a foster home promptly. Without hesitation, Megyn decided to bring this little family home.
As soon as Christine stepped out of her carrier and into her new living space, she began to explore, clearly comfortable with her surroundings. She readily accepted affection from her foster mom, displaying her inherently friendly nature. Christine has always had a knack for positioning herself between humans and her precious babies.
Her new quarters offered a serene environment, complete with soft, comfortable bedding and an abundance of nourishing food. She diligently watched over her kittens, ensuring they were safe, well-fed, and impeccably clean.
Whenever Megyn entered the room, Christine would greet her with the most endearing face rubs and leg hugs. While she remained cautious about the proximity of her kittens, over time, her worries started to melt away.
Christine’s devotion to her babies, Chip and Dale, was undeniable. It was evident in the robust, healthy growth of her two little chonks. She was the ultimate protector, always ready to shield her babies from harm. Over the past week and a half, Christine began allowing Megyn closer access to her kittens as they began to explore and play, demonstrating her trust in their foster mom.
Despite her protective instincts, the most Christine ever did was emit a protective growl, usually in response to sudden movements or loud sounds. She has an incredibly gentle temperament and a wealth of affection to share with both humans and her fellow felines.
Megyn deeply appreciates how Christine approaches humans with love and always seeks to sniff their faces to understand their scents. As the weeks passed in foster care, Christine grew more comfortable with Megyn’s presence around her kittens, revealing her inquisitive and playful nature.
Christine’s new life as an indoor cat brings her immense joy, knowing she never has to worry about food or shelter again. She’s delighted to raise her kittens in the company of the person she’s come to adore and trust.
This heartwarming tale is a testament to the incredible bond that can form between humans and their furry companions. If you’d like to follow Mama Christine and Megyn’s foster journey, check out their Instagram page at @kittenkonnoisseur.
