When the staff at the Humane Society of Broward County heard about Jerry’s situation, they were heartbroken. They had never heard of a cat being given up for such a bizarre reason. Susan Leonti, the digital marketing specialist at the shelter, said, “Most of our adopters are actually looking for affectionate cats! We believe there is no such thing as a cat that is too affectionate.”
Poor Jerry was confused and heartbroken when he arrived at the shelter. He didn’t understand why he was there, and he was nervous and scared. But the staff quickly fell in love with him and showered him with all the attention he craved. They knew that there were plenty of people who would love a cat as sweet and loving as Jerry.
To help him find a new forever home, the staff posted a video of Jerry on TikTok. The response was overwhelming! The very next day, there was a line of people waiting outside the shelter to adopt him, including his new family. They had seen the video on TikTok and knew that Jerry was the cat for them.
Jerry’s new family was so generous that they even sponsored the adoption fees for a trio of cat siblings that had been at the shelter since Thanksgiving: Aramis, Porthos, and Athos. The trio is still available for adoption, but we have a feeling that they’ll find their forever home soon.
Jerry is now settling into his new home and loving every minute of it. He has finally found the loving family he deserves, and we couldn’t be happier for him. Remember, there’s no such thing as a cat that’s too affectionate!
