Meet Sage, the mama cat with a heartwarming story. Found wandering the streets with a baby bump, she was in dire need of a safe haven for her impending motherhood. That’s where Karly Saltarski, cofounder of Salty Animal Rescue, stepped in to offer her a home.
After a bit of stress and uncertainty, Sage settled into her foster home like a pro. She explored every nook and cranny, feeling the love and care that surrounded her. And in a touching gesture, she showed her gratitude by rubbing against her new family members.
Settling onto a soft blanket, Sage bared her belly, a sign of trust and comfort. Karly, overwhelmed with joy, prepared a cozy birthing box for Sage and eagerly awaited the arrival of her furry brood.
About 10 days later, Sage became a proud mama to six adorable kittens – Saffron, Lavender, Nutmeg, Basil, Herb, and Dill. Karly woke up to the sweet sound of their tiny mews, surrounded by warmth and love.
Sage, being the devoted mother she is, tended to her little ones day and night, ensuring they had everything they needed. And despite the demands of motherhood, she showered Karly with affection, purring contentedly.
As the kittens grew, they began exploring their surroundings under Sage’s watchful eye. Each one had their own personality – from easy-going Dill to adventurous Lavender.
Thanks to their foster home, these kittens will never know the hardships of life on the streets. They’ll grow up safe and loved, with bright futures ahead of them.
And as for Sage, she’s one step closer to finding her forever home, where she’ll be cherished just as she deserves.
