Guess what? Cats have taken up human work! Yep, you read that right. And you won’t believe where it’s happening – at a hospital in Australia, of all places.
Meet Elwood, the cutest cat around, who’s been spotted hanging out around the entrance of Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, Australia for a solid year.
Chantel Trollip, one of the hospital’s employees, crossed paths with Elwood around a year ago, and since then, he’s become a familiar face at the hospital.
Thing is, no one really knew where he hailed from or if he even had an owner. That was until the secret got out – Elwood has a real home across the street, with a twin brother named Jake (yep, like the Blues Brothers!).
Elwood’s found his groove at the hospital, and he’s made quite the impression on the staff. He’s become so much a part of the scene that folks there consider him just another co-worker.
But here’s the twist that had everyone doing a double-take: Elwood had an ID badge! Yep, one fine day, Chantel spotted a tag hanging from his collar, and it was no ordinary tag – it was a hospital employee’s ID badge with the title ‘security’ right there!
Chantel shared, “I first noticed his ID badge on him in June. I was actually having a case of the sads that day, but seeing his ID badge turned my whole mood around!”
And here’s the kicker – his badge is a spitting image of the real staff badges, complete with call codes on the back.
Elwood’s totally in his element, doing his “job” with all the seriousness of a pro. He’s soaking in all the attention from the folks, but he’s a busy cat with places to be and things to do. Cuddles might be on the back burner for now.
So, hats off to Elwood – he’s truly representing the feline workforce like a champ. Now, the only question left is, how does he get paid? Tuna on the menu, perhaps?
