A cat named Gracie has become a regular visitor to shops at Freeport Braintree in Essex, England.
Despite concerns from shoppers, her owner Lee Johnston assures everyone that Gracie is savvy with cars and comes out unscathed.
He created a Facebook page to spread the word about Gracie’s shopping habit and convince people that’s just what she does.
Gracie, a 10-year-old British shorthair, was once a rescue from a center in Witham and originally from Wembley according to her microchip.
Lee Johnston thinks that Gracie likes people and shops because she was brought up in the city.
Gracie walks half a mile from her home to Freeport Braintree every day from 09:00 until it closes.
She likes to pop into a shop, have a look around, and maybe have a sleep. Gracie also likes sitting in people’s laps, a bit of company, and even goes in dressing rooms.
Although some shops have kicked her out, Gracie has been made welcome in most stores.
According to Freeport’s manager Josef O’Sullivan, Gracie has become a “very popular visitor” at the center and “quite the celebrity” amongst their retailers and visitors.
