Meet Calzy, the coolest cat on TikTok, hailing all the way from Halifax, Canada. This feline sensation has gathered a whopping 52,000 followers, and it’s not just his cuteness that steals the show – it’s those rockin’ ear tufts!
Calzy’s social media account aptly named CalzyKool is where the magic happens. His owner, Aia Alkhudair, shared with CTV News Atlantic how Calzy’s viral journey began.
“We were like, everybody has TikToks of their cats, so why not, you know, post Calzy’s videos?” she said.
Calzy, a white rescue cat, boasts some wild and fluffy hair, but it’s those ear tufts that set him apart. When the internet caught wind of his untamed mane, the cat’s popularity soared.
“We decided to post this one of him out on the deck, and his hair, his fur, is flying everywhere,” Aia shared. “It just became a hit.”
In one particular video featuring Billy Idol’s “Hot in the City,” Calzy’s ear tufts sway in the breeze, leading many TikTokers to draw comparisons between the cat and the ’80s rocker.
“It’s not just the cat’s fluffy ears that make him look like the ’80s rocker. It’s also his disgruntled look that’s reminiscent of Billy Idol’s pout,” the article notes.
Responding to comments suggesting intentional grooming for a Ziggy Stardust resemblance, Aia clarified, “Everyone seems to think that we style it ourselves, but we don’t … it just grows out naturally like that.”
