I’ve got an incredible feline tale from Dunfermline, UK that’ll warm your heart. Meet Bella, the black cat who disappeared from her home almost four years ago. Yes, you heard it right—four years!
Bella went missing in May 2017, just as her family was moving from Dunfermline, which is more than 15 miles away from Tillicoultry, where she was found. Imagine their shock when the Scottish SPCA discovered Bella slightly injured in Tillicoultry. Luckily, Bella was microchipped, and rescue worker Kelly McGuire quickly contacted her family.
“I was absolutely shocked to hear she had been missing since 2017!” shared Kelly.
The Caldicott family, who owned Bella, had to break the heartbreaking news to their young sons back then. Joel Caldicott, Bella’s family father, recalled, “We had to tell our sons, who were all under 10-years-old at the time, that Bella wasn’t coming back. That was very difficult for all of us.”
But here’s the magical part—Bella is now back home, safe and sound! Despite a bit of uncertainty in the beginning, she quickly settled in. According to Joel, “She was a bit unsure for the first few days, but now it’s like she’s never been away.”
As for how Bella managed to travel those 15 miles from Dunfermline to Tillicoultry, well, that remains her secret. It’s a heartwarming tale of a lost kitty finding her way back home, reminding us all of the incredible bond between pets and their families. Cheers to Bella and her family’s reunion!
