The Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) took in four little grey bundles of joy who were found outside without a mama at just one week old.
One of the kittens, Twiglet, was in pretty rough shape – poor thing was emaciated, crusty, and as fragile as a feather. But fear not, Penny Richards of AWLA swooped in like a superhero to the rescue and took on the litter of four.
Penny popped them into an incubator to keep them toasty warm since they were too tiny to regulate their own body heat. Twiglet got some extra TLC – Penny gently cleaned her matted fur and fed her wee meals to help her gain strength.
The other kittens – Cherry Bakewell, Jaffa Cake, and Jammie Dodger – rallied around Twiglet with snuggles and purrs, showing her the love she needed to heal. Plus, they got a snuggle toy to make them feel like mama was always close by.
Fast forward a bit, and Twiglet was thriving! She doubled in size, gained energy, and her crusty coat became a thing of the past.
The gang got loud at mealtime and loved cozying up in their cuddle-puddle. Jammie Dodger was the laid-back giant, Jaffa Cake the mischievous troublemaker, Cherry Bakewell the people-person, and Twiglet the quiet sweetheart.
Twiglet was particularly cautious, making sure her siblings were close by at all times. And when it came to bonding, Jaffa Cake and Cherry Bakewell were inseparable, just like Jammie Dodger and Twiglet.
Now, these tight-knit siblings are ready for their next adventure – finding forever homes! After a rocky start, they’re big, strong, and full of love, ready to charm their way into someone’s heart. Ah, what a journey!
