Hey, guess what? Even cats need a ticket to ride the train! Yes, you heard that right.

A sneaky feline in Inner Mongolia, China, tried to score a free ride on a train, but its plan was foiled by a strict conductor. And lucky for us, the whole incident was caught on a viral TikTok video.

Now, we all know that there’s no such thing as a free lunch, and the same goes for train rides. But this special stowaway didn’t get the memo and ended up becoming an internet sensation in China and beyond.

According to the Daily Mail, the woman who posted the video jokingly said that the feline freeloader was “forced to leave the train after refusing to buy a ticket.” The footage shows a conductor escorting the striped cat off the train, with its front legs “restrained” by the conductor.

The cat looks pretty embarrassed as it walks through the doors and onto the platform, just like someone who got caught red-handed.

The video quickly spread like wildfire on TikTok, with different soundtracks added by users. One version by @lovelypets2000 already racked up over 1.8 million views. People couldn’t help but comment on the cat’s train adventure. Some loved its walk of shame, while others expressed concern for its safety.

“Hahaha, this is too adorable. Look at the way it was walking with choppy steps,” wrote one user. Another commented, “The cat must have thought it could pay for a ticket with its overwhelming cuteness.”

The woman who originally shared the video speculated that the cat might have been a stray, but opinions among TikTok users were divided. Some believed the cat was too well-groomed and comfortable with human contact to be homeless.

One person even expressed concern about the cat’s well-being, asking what happened to it afterward and if it had a shelter. Unfortunately, the fate of the cat remains unknown, but there’s one thing we know for sure—it brought smiles to many faces with its unexpected train adventure.
