There was this tiny ginger kitten who arrived at an animal shelter, and boy, was she grumpy-looking! It was pretty clear that something was bothering her, and the carers at the San Jose Animal Care Center were determined to figure it out.
Turns out, the poor little thing had feline scabies, which is a really miserable condition causing hair loss and tons of itchiness. No wonder she had that grumpy expression! Dr. Ostermann, the shelter vet, said, “There is no clearer way to see how miserable scabies can make an animal than seeing the transformation of this one tiny kitten. She wouldn’t move much. She would sit, with squinted eyes, looking miserable.”
Her skin was all crusty and scabby, showing the tough battle she was going through. But the carers wasted no time and started her treatment right away. They showered her with all the care and love she needed to bring back her happiness.
You won’t believe the change in this little kitten over just a month! When she first arrived, she barely moved and seemed so sad. But as her treatment progressed, she started bouncing around, trying to get everyone to play with her. Dr. Ostermann said, “A few weeks into her recovery, she was already looking happier and seemingly in less pain.”
The transformation was incredible! Her newfound energy was unleashed, and her playful side came to life. Once she was completely healed, she was spayed and ready for adoption. And guess what? In no time, she found her perfect forever loving home!
