A kitten born with wobbly feet found a new lease on life just hours after leaving the shelter.

Meet Figaro, a 6-week-old kitten discovered as an orphan and taken to the Animal Care Centers of NYC.

With his unsteady steps and inability to eat independently, staff began syringe-feeding him.

Recognizing his need for specialized care, they reached out to Little Wanderers NYC, a volunteer rescue group.

“Figaro has cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) or ‘wobbly kitten syndrome’,” shared Little Wanderers NYC. This condition affects his motor skills but doesn’t dampen his spirits.

Under the care of Ashley, a foster parent with Little Wanderers NYC, Figaro blossomed.

Within 10 hours of leaving the shelter, he embraced eating on his own, relishing canned food offered by Ashley. Curious and playful, Figaro explored his new surroundings, diving into toys and snuggling up for naps.

Despite his wobbly movements, Figaro tackles life with gusto. He’s learning the ropes of drinking and litter box use, showing remarkable determination.

“He purrs constantly and he is wild. For a kitten with CH, he has more energy than any kitten his age I’ve ever seen. He loves to play and the only time he meows is when he wants someone to play with,” says Ashley.

Figaro’s story highlights the importance of fostering. With a loving environment, even kittens with special needs like Figaro can thrive, enjoying a life filled with love, warmth, and endless play.
