Meet Cheeky, a pint-sized tortoiseshell kitten who embarked on a remarkable journey at just two weeks old. She, along with her ginger littermates, found herself in need of some extra TLC when they arrived at the Cat Adoption Team (CAT) shelter. Fortunately, Laura, a dedicated volunteer, stepped in to lend a helping hand.

For the first two weeks, these adorable furballs were thriving under Laura’s care. Bottle feeding, growing, and playful antics filled their days. However, things took a turn when Cheeky began stumbling and losing her balance at four weeks old.

Laura wasted no time and rushed Cheeky to CAT’s onsite hospital, where the determined kitten was diagnosed with toxoplasmosis. This marked the beginning of her brave battle towards recovery.

Despite her wobbly legs and occasional tumbles, Cheeky displayed unwavering determination. She eagerly devoured her meals, attempted to maintain her balance during feeding sessions, and gradually showed signs of improvement.

As Cheeky’s strength grew, so did her playful spirit. She started sitting up, moving around, and even engaging in sibling wrestling matches. Her persistence was admirable, and no tumble could deter her from trying again.

Interacting with her energetic littermates played a crucial role in her progress. Cheeky’s purr, which had been silent for a while, made a heartwarming comeback as she rejoined the playful antics of her siblings.

By the time she reached seven weeks, Cheeky had not only surpassed the one-pound mark but also transformed into a running and jumping dynamo. She conquered challenges like reaching the litter box independently and transitioning to eating from a bowl.

Cheeky’s foster family affectionately referred to her as the “energizer bunny” due to her constant motion. With her lively personality, they believed she’d become a cat capable of reaching impressive heights.

This resilient tortoiseshell kitten found her forever home, filling it with zoomies and mischief. Her new mom couldn’t be happier to introduce her to her fur siblings, Snowball and Kissy.

Cheeky’s journey from stumbling steps to confident leaps is a testament to her strength and the loving care she received along the way.
