Get ready for some heartwarming and heartbreaking news all in one story. The RSPCA in Essex, United Kingdom is on the lookout for information after a kitten was abandoned in an Ikea car park.

The five-month-old grey and white kitten, named Vinnie, was found packed in a pet carrier with a pouch of cat food and some toys by a concerned citizen in the car park of the furniture superstore at Lakeside Shopping Centre.

But what’s more, Vinnie’s carrier also contained a note that read:

“Hi, my name is Vinnie and I am a very handsome five-month-old half Bengal boy kitten. My mummy loves me very, very much but is unable to keep me for personal reasons. And I am very sad.”

Can you imagine the heartache the owner must have felt to leave such a precious little kitty behind?

Thankfully, Vinnie was discovered before anything bad could happen to him.

According to the RSPCA, “A car reversing into the space could have easily failed to spot the carrier and run him over so he’s very lucky he was rescued when he was. I’d like to thank the member of the public who took him to safety and called us.”

Vinnie is now safe and sound, and he will soon be at the RSPCA Essex Havering Branch looking for a new forever home.

This poor little guy deserves all the love and attention he can get after being abandoned like that.

But the RSPCA has an important message for anyone considering abandoning their pet: “If, for whatever reason, you can no longer care for your pet, there are lots of organizations and people who may be able to help. Please don’t abandon your animal without the proper care and attention they require. If you are struggling to care for a pet, please contact our 24-hour line on 0300 1234 999 for advice and help.”

Let’s all spread the word and help prevent more stories like Vinnie’s from happening. Remember, our furry friends are not disposable, they are family.
