A little tabby kitten found herself lost and alone on a farm, her eyes crusted shut. Luckily, a compassionate soul working there noticed her plight and reached out to Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montreal, a cat rescue.
“The kitten couldn’t orient herself because she couldn’t see anything. The lady was able to bring her to safety, and she reached out to us for help,” Celine shared.
This brave kitten, affectionately named Salba, embarked on a journey of recovery with the help of dedicated volunteers. After getting her eyes cleaned and treated, Salba could finally open them and see the world around her.
“After her arrival, we were informed by the finder that there was another kitten at the farm who was the same age and also very sickly,” Celine continued.
Enter Sultan, Salba’s brother from the same litter. He, too, was battling severe upper respiratory infections and needed a lot of tender loving care. Both kittens were plagued by fleas and stomach issues, but with proper attention, nourishment, and warmth, they began the healing process.
“Sultan and Salba were placed in the same room for the first time after they had somehow been separated. They didn’t recognize each other right away, but it didn’t take long for them to reconnect,” Celine shared.
Once medically cleared, the siblings reunited, and the magic happened. Sultan, the playful mischief-maker, and Salba, the affectionate and cuddly one, quickly became inseparable. They now navigate the house together, bringing joy and laughter with their playful antics.
“Sultan is a little mischief-maker, and everything is an excuse to play. He enjoys his cardboard fort and will climb to the top to survey the room,” Celine added.
Salba, on the other hand, is the epitome of affection, craving closeness and warmth from her human companions. The once-sickly kittens have transformed into happy, boisterous cats, always putting smiles on people’s faces.
Now, these dynamic siblings are on the lookout for a loving family that will cherish and embrace them forever. Their journey from a challenging start to a harmonious bond is an inspiring tale of resilience and the transformative power of care and compassion.
