Meet Oboe, the tiny orange tabby kitten with a unique “tail meter” that tells a heartwarming story. This little furball was just about 10 days old when he was discovered outside along with his six littermates. They were in a tough spot, covered in dirt and struggling with eye infections.
Jen Mack, the caring soul behind Kitkat Playroom, stepped in to rescue them. She jumped into action, providing round-the-clock care for the entire fur brigade. It wasn’t long before these little ones perked up and started accepting kitten formula.
“When Oboe started lapping up from the bottle, I knew he was safe,” Jen shared with us, relieved that he was on the mend.
Despite his small size, Oboe had an incredible fighting spirit from day one. He was determined to thrive and grow strong.
“Back in his tiny days, Oboe would nurse with his tail sticking straight up to the ceiling. As he sipped away, his ‘tail meter’ would gradually lower. Clearly, this kitty has always been passionate about food,” explained Jen.
With an insatiable appetite, Oboe quickly outgrew his littermates, becoming the largest of the bunch. Jen affectionately dubbed him the “Chunker” as he enthusiastically devoured seconds and thirds from the bottle.
When feeding time rolled around, Oboe made sure he was front and center. His powerful meow belied his age, making him hard to ignore in a room full of hungry kittens.
But Oboe’s culinary escapades don’t end there. He always eats to his heart’s content, making sure his belly is packed to the brim. Not only has he become the biggest and heaviest, but he’s also the fiercest and most tenacious of them all.
Oboe’s strength is evident in his playfulness. While his peers cuddle teddy bears, he prefers to tackle them, dragging them around as he showcases his playful prowess.
“As a wee one, he’d drag a teddy bear around with his tiny teeth. He’s a climber extraordinaire, scaling your back and perching on your shoulder. Oboe is quite the adventurous climber,” Jen shared.
After a busy day of being a mischievous kitty, Oboe seeks out his favorite pastime – cuddles! He absolutely adores curling up on a lap and getting his belly rubbed. His loud purr resonates through your entire being, a testament to his contentment.
Oboe possesses a brave and determined nature. With those big, innocent eyes, he can easily persuade his humans to give him whatever his little heart desires. And believe us, he’s usually successful!
“Like most kittens raised on bottles, Oboe is a human-lover through and through. He craves lap time and snuggles,” Jen added.
When he’s not wowing everyone with his energetic antics, Oboe engages in playful pursuits – chasing jingly and clattering things or challenging his littermates to wrestling matches.
Now, Oboe and his siblings are gearing up for a new chapter in their lives – finding forever homes. Oboe leads the clowder with his spirited nature, and his siblings look up to him. With his unmatched zest for life and love for laps, Oboe is bound to bring joy to any household lucky enough to adopt him.
