Meet Wasabi and Kimchi, a dynamic feline duo that started their adventure with hissing and swatting. Asa, a foster volunteer with the Animal Welfare League of Arlington, welcomed these timid sisters into her care.
The initial days saw the kittens seeking refuge in a corner, their fear palpable. But fear not! Asa, armed with patience and love, patiently waited for them to warm up.
In about a week, the sisters began to unveil their playful spirits. The aroma of favorite treats kickstarted their purr motors, and soon, Kimchi boldly became Asa’s shadow. Wasabi, not to be outdone, joined the fun. Together, they formed an inseparable tabby tag team.
“We made huge progress with Wasabi (after three weeks), ending the day with her approaching me and rubbing against me for the first time,” Asa happily shared.
These transformed kittens started responding to Asa’s conversations with delightful meows and chirps. Kimchi’s leap of faith in trusting, coupled with Wasabi’s newfound bravery, resulted in a harmonious, love-filled melody.
Enter Kumar, a wobbly bunny with a heart as big as his floppy ears. At three years old and four pounds, Kumar brought his own unique charm to the lively household. Despite a neurological issue making him a “wobbly” bunny, Kumar radiated happiness.
The tabby sisters graciously welcomed Kumar, exhibiting sweetness and gentleness. They even kept him company in his crib as he navigated his wobbly adventures.
“Wasabi’s become so much more comfortable since Kumar’s arrival,” Asa noted. The bond between them grew, and Kumar relished the playful antics of his new kitten companions.
As the time approached for Wasabi and Kimchi to spread their wings and find their forever home, a wonderful family stepped in to love and spoil them for life.
On the morning of their departure, a heartwarming scene unfolded. Kumar, the wobbly wonder, hopped over to Kimchi, and they shared a cozy nap. Wasabi, ever sweet, nestled in Asa’s lap, purring a heartfelt “thank you.”
“I’m so proud of these two for learning to trust. Now, they’ll get to grow up indoors in a safe, loving home.”
As for Kumar, his search for a happily-ever-after continues. In the meantime, he thrives under Asa’s care, enjoying regular visits from the resident animals in this delightful, furry tale.
