Jason Belisha’s rental car decided to take a break, which was pretty inconvenient, right? But then, out of nowhere, a little gray cat appeared, turning the engine trouble into a stroke of luck.
Jason heard some meows in the parking lot, and it didn’t take him long to find a poor, malnourished kitty. Now named Popeye, this little furball was more than happy to come closer and snuggle into Jason’s arms.
It was crystal clear to Jason that Popeye needed some serious attention and tender loving care. So, he thought, “Let’s take Popeye to the local shelter, see if he’s got an owner.” But, surprise surprise, no luck in finding an owner, and the shelter suggested putting Popeye back on the street, claiming he’d manage on his own.
After picking up his repaired car and making a pit stop at the pet store, Jason brought the little gray kitten home. Popeye wasted no time using the litter tray and making friends with Goose, the Corgi living there. He even insisted on sharing the bed with his new foster dad and dog brother.
But, life being what it is, Jason knew he couldn’t keep Popeye forever. With his busy musician lifestyle, he realized he couldn’t give Popeye the attention he deserved. Luckily, a good friend stepped up and offered Popeye a forever home.
“I took the opportunity and brought him over before I got too attached to him,” said Jason. “Given another few days, I would have gotten irrational!” Even though saying goodbye was tough, Jason knew he was doing the right thing.
Popeye is now happily settled in his new forever home, and Jason keeps up with all his adventures. Popeye’s new mom even sends videos of the little gray kitty’s adorable antics. Check out their journey in the video below!
