A brave little kitten showed up at a stranger’s doorstep, all on her own, without a mother in sight. Despite her fragile state, she had the courage to seek help.
Chatons Orphelins Montreal received word of this tiny wanderer who was in desperate need of medical attention. Celine Crom from the rescue shared, “We agreed to take her, and a volunteer drove two hours to transport her to Montreal for us.”
This little feline, whom they named Moxxie, was a mere shadow of what a healthy kitten should be. She arrived with an array of health issues, but it seemed like she understood she was now safe.
During her journey to the rescue, she snuggled up in her carrier, finally getting some well-deserved rest. Celine remarked, “Against all odds, she survived on her own in that state. She is truly a little fighter.”
Moxxie was estimated to be around two months old and bore the signs of having braved the streets for a while. An upper respiratory infection made it difficult for her to breathe, but it never stopped her purr motor from running.
Under the rescue’s care, Moxxie received treatment for her health issues, including the URI, fleas, ear mites, and stomach troubles. She was so hungry that she eagerly pounced on her food bowl. With the warmth of a cozy water bottle, she purred herself to sleep.
After the first two months of her life being a constant battle for survival, Moxxie finally had the chance to relax and recover. She’d never have to worry about going hungry or having shelter again.
Moxxie’s progress was swift, thanks to good nutrition, proper medication, and a clean environment. Breathing became easier, she was cleaned from head to tail, and her tummy troubles vanished.
Once Moxxie received a clean bill of health, it was time for her to socialize with another cat who could guide her through the next steps. Her foster family knew just the right companion to help her along.
Meet Marscha, a 21-year-old resident cat who has served as a foster extraordinaire for countless kittens and cats over the years. Marscha didn’t waste a moment to extend her helping paws to Moxxie when she heard her commotion from another room.
Moxxie was instantly drawn to Marscha and kept her purr motor running nonstop. She nuzzled into Marscha’s coat, slowly melting into her, and drifted off to a peaceful slumber. “We see that she is always looking for a ‘mom,’ and it comforts her to be near the resident cat.”
Since then, Marscha has showered Moxxie with snuggles and baths, wrapping her arms around her as if to reassure her of the love she receives.
Celine shared, “Moxxie was lucky to have been found just in time that day. She wouldn’t have made it much longer in that condition, all alone outside.” This brave little kitten finally found the kind-hearted people who would help her thrive, and a nurturing friend to dote on her every day.
Moxxie’s tale is a heartwarming reminder of how love and compassion can transform a life, even for a tiny, brave soul like her.
