One morning, the folks at Mill Road Vet Clinic in New Zealand were in for a surprise when they discovered a box of kittens left at their doorstep. There were four of them, roughly around 3 to 4 weeks old. It seemed like these little ones had been abandoned by their mother, but something quite unusual unfolded over the next 24 hours.
You see, there was this tabby cat who kept making appearances at the clinic’s door, determined to sneak inside whenever the door cracked open. The staff found this behavior rather puzzling, but the mystery unraveled when, one day, the cat successfully slipped past someone during a door-opening moment.
Suddenly, it became crystal clear that this sneaky tabby was, in fact, the mother of the four fluffy kittens. The connection was undeniable.
With the secret out in the open, the staff decided to reunite the mother cat with her kittens, letting her into the room where they were kept. It turned out that the mother cat had probably been with her kittens in the box initially but had taken a brief break to find food or have a moment away from her rambunctious youngsters.
As it happened, this feline family found a happy ending. They were adopted by a relative of one of the clinic’s staff members, and all’s well that ends well.
