You know, it’s been a long-running joke that dog owners start to resemble their furry friends, but guess what? The same thing can happen with cats too! Just ask Larry Scott, who ended up picking a kitten that shares something special with him.

Back in 2015, Larry unfortunately lost an eye in a car accident. Fast forward to May of this year, and Larry and his wife found themselves needing a new feline companion after their beloved cat of 20 years passed away. So off they went to a shelter in Ohio in search of their new furry friend.

Larry, who’s 62 years young, shared with us, “Honestly, we weren’t actively looking for a one-eyed cat.” But as fate would have it, his wife spotted a very special candidate—a kitty missing her right eye! In that moment, she exclaimed, “Look at that, we have to adopt him.” And of course, Larry happily agreed.

Now, you may be wondering what happened to the adorable kitty that stole the Scotts’ hearts. Well, this tabby had a rough start.

She came to the shelter with a severe eye infection, so bad that it required surgical removal of the eye. But you know what they say—sometimes bad luck can lead to a stroke of good fortune, and that’s exactly what happened here. Losing her eye led this resilient cat to her new forever home.

Now, this cat goes by not one, but two names! Larry’s wife lovingly calls him Mr. Love, but Larry himself has a different moniker in mind. “I won’t call him that,” he chuckled. “I’ve been calling him Killer because he plays with every toy like he wants to kill it.”

Larry described Killer, or Mr. Love, as a bundle of energy who plays as if there’s no tomorrow. And you know what? Larry can appreciate that zest for life. Together, this one-eyed dream team is living their best lives.

We may never know if Larry and his wife will ever settle on one name for their feisty feline. But one thing’s for sure—this cat has found a home where he truly belongs. And that’s what matters most.
