Hey guys, have you ever heard of a cat coming back to its owner after 10 years of being lost? Well, that’s what happened to Gerald Thompson, a guy from Edmonton, Canada.
One day, Gerald was reunited with his cat Lil Homey at a veterinary clinic in Calgary. The poor cat was found as a stray in Red Deer and was in really bad shape when taken to the hospital. Lil Homey’s fur was all matted, and it took hours for the vet to shave it all off.
Gerald was amazed to hear that the cat he thought was gone forever was actually found. He already had four cats at home and was pretty sure they were all there. But when the vet mentioned that the cat was about 15 years old, Gerald realized it was his long-lost pet.
Ten years ago, Lil Homey was living with Gerald’s grandmother, and the family decided to give him a new home on a farm. Gerald thought that everything was great and the cat was living happily. But it seems Lil Homey had other plans and ended up becoming a stray.
The veterinary hospital was able to identify Gerald as the owner by using an ID tattoo on the cat. Gerald is still amazed and puzzled as to how Lil Homey became a stray and what happened during the last 10 years.
“I would love to know where he’s gone, because it sure looks like he’s got a few stories to tell,” said Gerald.
Cats truly are little miracles, and Lil Homey is proof of that.
