Derpton89, a Reddit user, was feeling lost in the midst of depression when he stumbled across three sickly kittens. Caring for them brought a ray of light into his darkness, but sadly, two of the kittens died. The third kitten, barely clinging to life, was lovingly taken in by Derpton.
He decided to break the building’s no-pets policy and brought the little kitten, who he named Dante, into his apartment. Derpton recalled, “He couldn’t see or walk properly. He fell asleep instantly after I fed him some food and gave him a bed (or myself in this case) to rest on.”
With the help of a veterinarian and plenty of love, Dante slowly regained his strength. Day by day, the tiny feline became healthier and more active. Derpton watched in amazement as Dante’s personality developed, and it brought a sense of joy into his life.
This man was suffering from depression, but Dante gave him the motivation he needed to push through. The kitten became his emotional support animal, providing love and companionship when he needed it most.
