Picture this: Robert Brantley is on his way to the shooting range after a long day at work when he sees a tiny kitten all alone on the side of the road. Being the kind soul he is, he pulls over to help the little furball.
“I figured I’d stop and rescue the thing,” he said.
But as soon as he picks up the kitten, he gets ambushed by six more kittens! And if that wasn’t enough, even more started coming out of the bushes towards him. It was like a kitten invasion!
“We’ve got a kitten problem,” he said in disbelief. “Who would do this?”
But Robert couldn’t leave the kittens behind, so he begins to try and get them all into his car. And let me tell you, it was not an easy task. Every time he got one in, two would jump out!
In the end, he had to funnel them into the car through an open window. Talk about a kitten wrangling adventure!
After posting videos of the rescue on social media, they went viral and Robert received praise from people all over the world. And he didn’t just save the kittens, he also received lots of advice and supplies from kind-hearted individuals.
“I’m working on getting them all a good home!” he said. “The kids are loving on them in the meantime and we’re fattening them up!”
And as for Scout, the first kitten he rescued, Robert has decided to keep him. And maybe a couple more.
“We had a lot of really good people that are local reach out wanting them,” he explained. “And a lot of people are wanting to do pairs to keep them together, which I’m pumped about.”
Way to go, Robert! You’re a true hero in the world of kitten rescues.
