Tyler Wood, a comedian, was on his way to a show when he had an unexpected encounter with a stray kitten in the middle of the road. The little furball was all alone, scavenging for food amidst the bustling traffic. Tyler couldn’t bear to leave the poor thing in such a dire situation.
Risking traffic, Tyler swooped in, wrapped the kitten in a blanket, and took him home to safety. Erin Mac, Tyler’s girlfriend, shared the tale, saying, “He was at risk of being hit by a car, so Tyler wrapped him up in a blanket and took him home.”
They aptly named him Stinky Kevin because, well, he was pretty stinky until he got a good bath. The name, inspired by Kevin McCallister from Home Alone, stuck. Kevin quickly melted Tyler’s heart, his purr motor running non-stop. Finally safe, Kevin reveled in the fact that he’d never have to face the harsh outdoors again.
Once home, Kevin devoured food like he’d never seen it before and snuggled up to Tyler for endless pets and love. The couple wasted no time; they whisked him to the vet for much-needed medical care, where Kevin cozied up in Tyler’s lap, content and grateful.
“He had no family around. He was immediately extremely friendly and cuddly. We knew we had to keep him,” Erin explained.
In the following weeks, Kevin transformed. His face cleared up, his cuddle cravings intensified, and his energy skyrocketed. He discovered the joy of being cradled in his humans’ arms and insisted on being held whenever he pleased.
Today, Kevin is the epitome of a professional lap cat and a parrot kitty (shoulder cat). He’s the friendliest feline ambassador, showering everyone he meets with snuggles and purrs. “He will cuddle with people but is also very hyper and will chase toys around for hours,” Erin shared.
Kevin isn’t just a cat; he’s a talkative, opinionated family member who won’t hesitate to voice his thoughts. “He will meow constantly if you are not paying attention to him.”
After a life of uncertainty outdoors, Kevin now luxuriates in the comforts of his forever home, living each day to the fullest without a care in the world. His story is a testament to the transformative power of love.
