Gilbert, the cat, calls Denmark his home and he’s quite the adventurer. One day, during a leisurely walk with his humans, something caught their eye—a little tabby kitten tucked under a bush, all by herself. They couldn’t resist investigating.
“When we tried to look under the bush, she ran and found another place to hide,” Gilbert’s human explained.
But Gilbert, determined to make a new friend, wasn’t about to give up. He strolled up to her while she was safely behind a gate and attempted to give her a friendly nose kiss.
Well, that did the trick! The tiny kitten promptly started following Gilbert around. It seemed like love at first sight.
However, while she had warmed up to Gilbert, she wasn’t so sure about humans. “She was extremely shy. If I was too close, she would run away or hiss at me,” Gilbert’s dad recalled.
So, they decided to take her home. After a much-needed bath, a visit to the vet clinic, and lots of good food, the kitten slowly began to trust her new human companions. She realized that humans weren’t as scary as she initially thought, especially when they offered cuddles.
It was time to hatch a plan and search for a new home for her, but Gilbert had other ideas. In the meantime, they provided her with a quiet room to gradually introduce her to their other cat, Nelly.
The curious kitten began exploring her new surroundings, purring with happiness. Whenever she made a sound, Gilbert would come running to ensure everything was alright. Before long, the three cats had formed a close bond, with Gilbert being especially protective of the little newcomer.
The humans quickly realized they couldn’t separate them. They named her Nala and officially welcomed her into their family.
“She is one of the most loving creatures in this world. She is so affectionate, playful, and cute. She loves to be cuddled and meows a lot,” they shared.
Gilbert took it upon himself to keep Nala clean and well-groomed, showering her with lots of baths. Although the house was filled with cat toys, Nala had a unique preference—playing with leaves from the yard.
“My guess is leaves were her only toys to play with when she was living on the streets,” they speculated.
“Nala loves food, and she can’t get enough of it. She used to be very possessive over her food because she had to fight for it to survive before we found her.”
This beautiful tabby had nearly caught up in size with her siblings, but Gilbert would always be her big brother, guiding her on the ways of being a cat.
Nala has come a long way from being a scared stray kitten in the bushes. She adores her new life and family, blossoming into a gorgeous cat.
