Tim Newton, a photographer living in Alaska, had quite the surprise one night when he heard strange noises at his door. Worried that his home was being broken into, he cautiously approached the source of the commotion, only to be greeted by an unexpected sight.
To his amazement, Tim found himself face to face with not one, not two, but seven adorable lynx kittens along with their mother!
In a state of astonishment, Tim quickly grabbed his camera and captured the heartwarming moment when the lynx mother called her kittens, and they all lined up right outside his door.
“The seven kittens proceeded to play around on the deck and in the yard,” Tim recalled. “They were running back and forth, pouncing on each other. I thought, ‘Wow! What incredible luck. This is just wonderful! They were so cute. It was cute-tastic!'”
As he watched the playful kittens frolic around, Tim couldn’t help but admire the mother lynx, who kept a watchful eye on her energetic offspring.
“Lynx are notoriously elusive,” Tim explained. “To see all these lynx on my deck, I was gobsmacked.”
For the next 40 minutes, Tim was treated to the delightful sight of the lynx kittens playfully chasing each other and rolling around on his deck. Despite his presence, the kittens seemed oblivious to him, except for one curious little one who approached the screen to investigate, only to be startled when Tim’s eyes inadvertently met his.
But the fun couldn’t last forever, and eventually, the mother lynx decided it was time to round up her brood and return to the safety of the forest.
Reflecting on the unforgettable encounter, Tim couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to witness such a rare and magical moment. “We’re always thrilled to encounter wildlife,” he said. “It makes me feel thankful — thankful for where I live. I’m thankful to have seen these lynx up close.”
Indeed, it was an incredible experience that Tim will cherish forever.
