Meet Kuli, the one-eyed surfing sensation! This cool cat has been riding the waves since he was just a whisker over six months old!
Rescued from the bustling streets of Honolulu, Hawaii, by Alexandra Gomez and Krista Littleton, Kuli was a tiny, malnourished furball, weighing in at just one pound. After a tough start, he had to undergo eye surgery due to an infection.
But Kuli’s resilience knows no bounds. “Kuli started his surf training at four months old after his operation, and it was only about six months later that he began surfing,” Alexandra shared with The Daily Mail.
His first foray into the water was a float near the shoreline, with Alexandra paddling alongside. “Before we knew it, we were looking for waves to surf,” she added. And when Kuli showed a knack for scratching into the foamy material of a boogie board, his humans knew they had a water-loving kitty on their hands.
From then on, Kuli became a regular at the beach, sporting his life jacket until he could paddle confidently on his own. “He still wears it from time to time depending on the conditions,” Alexandra noted.
Named “Kuli” for its meaning in Hawaiian, which translates to “to look blind,” this adventurous feline has captured the hearts of beachgoers with his surfing skills. From longboards to boogie boards, Kuli is a pro at riding the waves, making him the coolest kitty in Hawaii!
