Get ready to meet the most compassionate monkey you’ve ever heard of! Positi, the monkey from Shoushan National Nature Park in Taiwan, has taken it upon himself to rescue homeless kittens. He’s already saved six or more, and counting!
But Positi doesn’t work alone. He’s got the support of Taiwanese macaque expert, Lin Chin-fu, who swoops in to provide medical care and help find the kittens loving homes. Talk about a dream team!
Now, catching these kittens isn’t easy, as Lin explained, “It takes two people to do the job”. But once the kittens are in Positi’s care, they’re treated like royalty. “The monkey is truly kind to the kittens. They are kept very clean, free of parasites,” Lin said.
Lin spends hours trying to bond with Positi, chatting with him to gain his trust. “Last time, I sat here with the monkey from 10:30am to 1:30pm,” Lin shared.
But all that effort is worth it when they successfully rescue a kitten, like Qiqi, who was taken to the vet and found to be a little skinny, but otherwise healthy.
Lin was thrilled to see Qiqi chow down on some food and liquids, relieved to know that the little kitten would be okay.
In fact, Lin was so moved by Positi’s kindness that he decided to take Qiqi home with him. And he’s not alone! Four other kittens rescued by Positi now live with Lin, while one found a loving family of its own.
It just goes to show that even the unlikeliest of animal pairs can team up for a greater good. Thanks, Positi and Lin, for being such a compassionate duo!
