Let me tell you about this amazing couple, Stoyan and Dessy, who live in Bulgaria. They have a big heart for stray cats in their neighborhood and dream of building a shelter one day to enhance their care program.
Everything they do for these cats comes straight from their own pockets or with the support of donations from their YouTube subscribers. They are true cat heroes!
In one of their videos, we join Stoyan and Dessy on their nightly rounds. Their routine involves taking out the trash and feeding the local stray kitties. But on this particular night, something extraordinary happened.
As they approached a dumpster, they heard faint meows coming from inside. Can you believe it? Someone had heartlessly thrown a shoebox with newborn kittens into the dumpster. It’s a good thing Stoyan and Dessy were there at the right time.
Usually, the garbage truck comes around 5 am, so these tiny kittens were incredibly lucky that our compassionate couple arrived before that. The night was cold, and nobody knew how long the kittens had been trapped in that dumpster.
Sadly, this kind of heart-wrenching situation is not uncommon in their area, especially during kitten season. People abandon newborn kittens in dumpsters, plastic bags, and other terrible ways. It’s a devastating reality.
But Stoyan and Dessy do everything they can to help. They took the kittens home and created a warm and safe space for them. These little ones joined four other abandoned kittens that the couple had recently rescued. Once the kittens were warmed up, the next task was feeding them every two hours.
One of the kittens was a boy, and the other was a girl. They estimated that the kittens were about 10 days old. Soon, their eyes would open, and the time would come to give them names. How exciting!
I have no doubt that Stoyan and Dessy will go above and beyond to ensure the survival and well-being of these kittens. They are true champions of love and compassion for these vulnerable creatures.
