So, they say rescue cats have a way of choosing us, and that’s exactly what happened with a stray tabby in Mississippi, U.S.
The Bosche family’s adventure with this determined kitty began when they noticed him hanging out in their garden. Despite being a bit standoffish, they couldn’t resist leaving some food out for him. After all, he looked like he could use a good meal.
For a whole month, they continued to feed the tabby, building a connection with the little guy. But tough decisions had to be made, and they decided to take him to an animal shelter five miles away, hoping he’d find his forever home.
Ann Bosche, feeling a mix of emotions, shared, “I cried the five miles back to my house.” It was a bittersweet choice, knowing they did what they thought was right.
However, this kitty had other plans. About a month later, early in the morning, Ann heard her husband chatting away in the kitchen. Intrigued, she discovered he was talking to the same cat they had left at the shelter four weeks before!
Mr. Fancy, as they named him, had found his way back, and this time, there was no shyness. The once reserved cat showered them with friendly meows and loads of affection.
As it turned out, Mr. Fancy had made a daring escape from the shelter after being there for only 20 minutes. It took him a month of navigating busy streets, railroad lines, and rough neighborhoods, but he made it back to the family that had cared for him.
“I think he had a guardian angel looking out for him, directing him back to my house,” Ann shared. “I love him so much and feel we were meant to be together. He belongs here. Mr. Fancy will never want for a home, food, or love again.”
It seems Mr. Fancy, in his own adventurous way, chose the family he wanted to be with, turning their house into his forever home.
