When the rescuers from Alley Cat Rescue were out doing their trap, neuter, return program (TNR), they stumbled upon a heart-wrenching sight: a tiny kitten with her head stuck in a fence.
Immediately, they sprang into action to free her, but their efforts revealed that she wasn’t alone. Behind the fence were her siblings, all in desperate need of medical attention.
The little white kitten, who they named Meeps, was in particularly bad shape. Her eyes were sealed shut from infections, and she needed urgent treatment.
“They were very ill and required multiple rounds of antibiotics for prolonged upper respiratory infections, eye ointment, eye drops, GI meds, probiotics, and treatment for multiple parasites,” shared one of the rescuers.
With dedicated care from the rescue volunteers, Meeps and her siblings began to slowly recover. They were spayed, vaccinated, and taken to a foster home where they received all the love and care they needed.
As the days went by, the kittens started to show signs of improvement. Meeps, in particular, displayed an incredible will to live and quickly won over the hearts of everyone around her.
“This adorable sweet girl comes looking for love in the right places. She rolls around on your computer keyboard, purring until you can’t resist,” said her foster mom.
With round-the-clock care and plenty of love and cuddles, Meeps and her siblings grew stronger each day.
Eventually, they all made a full recovery and were ready for adoption. It didn’t take long for them to find loving forever homes.
And as they settle into their new lives, we can’t help but be thankful to little Meeps, who bravely stuck her neck out for her family.
