Say hello to Bunny and Otter!

These two adorable siblings might have some special needs, but that doesn’t slow them down one bit. Thanks to Caroline Grace and her Baby Kitten Rescue, they’re living their best lives full of joy and playfulness!

Caroline started Baby Kitten Rescue as a nonprofit organization back in September 2021, with just herself and three others fostering kittens. Fast forward to 2023, and they’ve expanded to 32 dedicated foster caregivers!

Their journey began when a kind-hearted woman found Bunny and Otter abandoned by their mother. Recognizing that they needed extra care, she reached out to Baby Kitten Rescue.

Bunny was born without front paws, while Otter was missing some toes. When they arrived in Caroline’s care, they were in rough shape – dirty, flea-infested, and battling infections. Otter even had a serious abscess on his head.

Despite their challenges, Bunny and Otter showed incredible resilience. With Caroline’s love and attention, they quickly started to thrive. Otter was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, requiring a special helmet until he could have surgery.

Bunny, on the other hand, developed remarkable strength in her back legs and core, moving around with ease.

Otter’s surgery was a success, and now he’s a healthy, happy kitty with a titanium skull – he’s practically Iron Man!

When it was time for adoption, Caroline knew Bunny and Otter had to stay together. Luckily, Megan, a close friend, stepped in to offer them a forever home just minutes away.

Caroline admits it was tough to let them go, but seeing them thrive in their new home brings her immense joy. Plus, she’s thrilled to remain a part of their lives.

The heartwarming journey of Bunny and Otter wouldn’t have been possible without the support of generous donors. Baby Kitten Rescue specializes in caring for the tiniest, sickest, and most vulnerable kittens in the Los Angeles area, ensuring they find loving forever homes.
