One sunny day in Carolina, a hungry ginger kitty showed up on a woman’s porch, meowing for food.
“She seemed shy but definitely hungry,” the woman shared.
Feeling compassion, the woman set out some food, and in no time, the ginger tabby scarfed it down and darted away.
The very next day, the same cat returned, but this time, she wasn’t alone. Right beside her was a tiny ginger kitten, a spitting image of his mom.
“He looked just as hungry as his mama,” the woman observed.
Then, on the following night, the mother cat came back again, but this time, she had two kittens with her—the ginger one from before and a darling tortoiseshell.
Realizing that the mama cat needed help, the woman reached out to Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue, and together, they worked to trap the family and get them to safety.
“The mama cat is a stray, and her tail is injured, so we knew she needed immediate vet care,” she explained.
Once at the shelter, the kittens, though a bit underweight, were given a clean bill of health. They were named Charlotte and Hank, while their mama was dubbed Mildred.
Under the care of their foster family, the trio thrived and quickly adjusted to life indoors.
And before long, they found their forever homes. Charlotte and Hank were adopted together, while mama Mildred, now named Sunshine, found a loving home with one of the shelter’s friends.
Thanks to their caring foster family and the help of the rescue, this cat family’s future is now bright and full of love.
