Meet Tom Cox, a best-selling author hailing from Devon, England. Now, Tom has an interesting take on his writings. He describes them as “books about rural life disguised as books about cats!” And you know what? He’s not wrong. Tom shares his home with not one, not two, but four lovely feline friends.

(Although, in the picture, you’ll spot six of them!)

Now, it’s a widely held belief that cats have nine lives, right? Well, Tom thinks his senior cat, Bear, might just break that record. In fact, he believes Bear has had at least 15 lives throughout his 21-year journey.

Bear, oh Bear, what a life he’s had! Tom stumbled upon him in the most peculiar way. He found Bear in a plastic bag on the hard shoulder of a motorway, abandoned by his original human. And from that moment on, Bear’s life has been an absolute roller coaster ride. Allergies, poisonings, and even getting lost in London for a whole month—this cat has seen it all.

To commemorate Bear’s incredible journey, Tom decided to make a list titled “The Lives of My 21-Year-Old Cat, The Bear (of which I am aware).” He shared it on Twitter, and boom! Instant hit. People couldn’t get enough of Bear’s unbelievable escapades.

If you take a look at the list, you’ll see that Bear has definitely surpassed the nine-lives myth. Let’s just hope that his senior years are a bit more relaxed and peaceful. After all, he deserves some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
