Check out the incredible journey of this tortie kitten who overcame a rough start and developed quite the cattitude!
When a tiny kitten was discovered as a lonely stray, she was brought to an after-hours vet clinic. “She was found rummaging through bin rooms in an industrial area,” shared Tara, the founder of The Mad Catters Feline Rescue, with us.
Although they didn’t know how she ended up on her own without a mother and siblings, one thing was certain: her life from that point forward would be filled with love.
Tara took the tortie kitten under her wing and began caring for her around the clock. At just four weeks old, this little fighter showed an incredible spirit.
Named Flick, she had striking markings on her face that resembled a split-face pattern. Not only did she stand out with her adorable appearance, but she also had a fiery personality.
As soon as she caught a glimpse of her foster mom entering the room, she would eagerly leave her comfy bed and greet her with squeaky meows, demanding pets and snuggles.
A few days later, Flick faced some health issues and required treatment for a parasite and mild cat flu. Throughout her recovery, she made it clear that she needed Tara’s undivided attention, crying and whining until she received the care she wanted.
“Most kittens tend to become quiet when they’re sick, but Flick is such a sassy little thing that she handled it well and maintained her cute attitude throughout the entire process,” shared Tara with us.
With excellent care, nutritious food, and lots of tender loving care, this tortie girl made a beautiful recovery. Once she regained her strength, she transformed into a playful bundle of energy, bouncing around with all the mischievousness of a little scalawag.
From the moment she entered her foster mom’s life, wrapped up on her chest, Flick has ruled the house and won the hearts of everyone around her.
“She’s incredibly independent and acts much older than her age. Right from the start, she taught herself everything she needed to know and has formed some wonderful friendships with the other foster animals here,” shared Tara.
Flick is a playful, inquisitive little soul who constantly hatches new plans for her next adventure. The moment she spots her people settling on the couch, she zooms over to join them, wanting to be right in the middle of all the action.
Having overcome a challenging start, she has grown into a fearless and confident kitten, carefree and full of life. She adores other cats and has even struck up a friendship with a much larger dog who towers over her.
Flick has grown not only in size but also in her tortitude. She possesses a highly persuasive stare and uses it skillfully whenever she wants something from her humans.
“She was a solo kitten and didn’t have littermates to teach her boundaries along the way. Despite the size difference, she has become friends with my dog and fearlessly approaches him, occasionally getting a bit cheeky,” Tara explained.
Flick is reveling in her joyful life with her foster family and is now ready to find a forever home of her own.
This tortie girl, who once had to rummage through garbage to survive, has blossomed into a stunning princess with a big personality and an impressive cattitude.
